Obsession

IMG_2337.jpg

I get totally obsessed with some projects.  I just have to see how the pattern develops, how the beads look, what the next color looks like next to the last color and the next color.  It is a good thing for the knitting; I actually stick with these projects and they get done pretty quickly.  But it is bad for the rest of my life because nothing else gets done.  I should be doing yoga, meditating, picking up the house, laundry, food shopping and cooking.  I fully plan on taking a shower today, but first…

I am about half way done with this shawl.  So far I really like it.  I put both ivory yarns next to each other so I have a big block of ivory.  They are actually a little different, but you really can’t tell.  One has a bit of clear sparkle that the other one lacks but it is so subtle.  I’m going to separate the two blue yarns that look almost identical, and the rest of the colors are distinct enough to hold their own.  The beads are labelled black but they have a definite greenish cast, which is perfect for this project.  I think if I had these on black yarn they would look decidedly green.  I get about one triangle done a day so I’m guessing I’ll be done this week sometime.  Unless I decide to cook something.
