Vent Pipes

I bought some yarn yesterday to cover my furnace vent pipes (not the opening!).  It is a pretty cool mix of colors: silver, gray, taupe, green and purple, all very dusty and muted.  Crocheted into fabric, it just looks like mottled gray, like weathered stone.  I am holding two strands together and doing single crochet to make a pretty dense fabric tube that I will slide over the pipes.  The only thing that might not work, is that the two pipes are pretty close together at one point, with not much wiggle room.  I might not be able to get the fabric over both tubes at that point.  Right now I am going to finish the tube for the longer vent pipe, the one that sticks up and I can see from the kitchen and deck.  If I can’t cover the lower pipe, maybe I can have a plant in front of it.  Or maybe I can make a thinner tube with only one strand of yarn.  It won’t make a fabric that covers as well, but it might fit.  Of course, once it is done, I might not like any of it, but we’ll see.  Pictures to follow, of my pipes and new plants.
