Summer begins

It’s the last day of Kindergarten!  I can’t believe how quickly that year went, and the strides Evan has made.  I think when I was in Kindergarten I learned my colors and how to tie my shoes.  It is not like that any more.  I will have my hands full this summer keeping him engaged and stimulated.  But a little down time will be good too.

I think my craft life will get a little down time too.  Yesterday I did some quilting on the star border for my Lone Star quilt.  I have a stencil ordered from The Stencil Company to use on the second border.  I might be putting that project into hibernation until August, once I have everything together in one place.  The only thing I still need to get is backing fabric, and I usually like to use flannel.  I will probably have a better choice of flannels in the fall anyway.

I have a crocheted blanket that I need to finish.  That will probably be my project that I work on at home.  And then I have the indigo yarn summer top to finish; right now I am working on the second half of the back, and it is a portable project for a while, so that can be my take-with-me thing.  Then I have all the ideas that are rattling around in my head, plus the wedding inspired things I do for my sister.  I can certainly keep myself as busy as I need to be, but can also take the time to just play with my son and enjoy life.  Summer is going to fly by.
